All parents still need to fill out the district enrollment form.This is only for NEW students not currently enrolled at SPVA. Current SPS students should contact their current school counselor/administrator and/or fill out an enrollment form.To enroll in the Stillwater Pioneer Virtual Academy: Participate in required district and state assessments.Short quizzes or knowledge checks will not require in-person attendance.Details of these tests will be outlined at semester/term start.Take in-person course and benchmark tests at the SPVA Center.Attend in-person science labs and other experiences if required by course.(1-5) - Small group or one-on-one sessions.(Grades 6-12) - One-on-one meetings to discuss progress and learning plans.Weekly virtual or in-person meetings with their SPS Teacher.Students will be given a drop period (3 school days for 10th-12th grade, 10 school days for PK-9th).At semester/term changes, students can remain virtual or switch to traditional learning. Commit to at least one full semester/term.An in-person or virtual enrollment/orientation session.Stillwater Pioneer Virtual Academy students must dedicate themselves to the commitment of online learning. After-school tutoring hours may be available.Students will be able to complete their online lessons at SPVA during designated times.Occasional small group/individual learning sessions and activities.Students will have opportunities for interaction with their teachers and peers.SPVA teachers will also be housed in this physical location. To enhance online lessons, the Stillwater Pioneer Virtual Academy building will feature in-person experiences. Stillwater Pioneer Virtual Academy Building Special services support such as speech, occupational, and physical therapy.Participate in SPS co-curricular and extracurricular activities like performing arts classes, athletics, and school dances.Students will check out a Chromebook and pay the fee during enrollment.Ī great thing about participating in the Stillwater Pioneer Virtual Academy over other virtual learning options is access to the resources and programs of Stillwater Public Schools.SPVA students will be able to enroll in in-person classes in these cases. Certain courses, like performing arts, may not have virtual alternatives available.Some classes may require in-person experiences at the SPVA building.Students will be able to complete nearly the entirety of their experience virtually.Work nearly exclusively online or with some in-person experiences. Online tools make it easy for teachers, parents, and students themselves to make sure they are maintaining a rate of work that will allow them to complete the course at the appropriate pace.Content may be delivered via Seesaw, Google Classroom, or Canvas in a few cases.SPS teachers will create, blend, vet, modify, and rewrite lessons to improve student learning and experiences.The elementary curriculum is created by SPS instructions to align with the district.
